NETTING

Bird netting is used to cover large areas such as bridges, car parks, roofs and roof spaces, eaves and building irontages, but also proves very effective at protecting smaller areas like alcoves and decorative building features. Netting works by physically excluding pest birds from entering vulnerable areas and by denying access to potential roosting and nesting sites. Effective against pigeons, seagulls, starlings and sparrows, netting provides the best long term solution to most urban bird control problems. Available in a range of sizes, gauges and colours, netting is surprisingly versatile; it can be attached to almost any structure using a selection of mre ropes, clamps, clips, hangers, and eye bolts. Pest Protection Services nets are currently protecting many major buildings and structures throughout Scotland. Our Export Section is available to provide expert help and assistance, and is able to compile all inclusive packages for properties abroad.

SPRING & WIRE (plus anti roosting systems)

Pest Protection Services' Spring and Wire system is applied to roosting ledges and provides a neat and effective method of moving on feral pigeons without causing them any harm. The system primarily consists of stainless steel posts with stainless steel wire (coated with nylon) stretched between the postings, tensioned and sprung. Normally the posts are drilled into the stonework and fixed using nylon anchors. In some areas, such as between window reveals or vertical stonework at the corners of ledges, stainless steel split pins replace the use of post. Specially designed horizontal posts: stick on posts and serrated jaw clamps increase the areas and locations which Spring & Wire can be used. Effective against pigeons and seagulls, anti-roosting systems, manufactured from stainless steel wires set into a high quality plastic base, promote a useful solution to roosting problems on decorative or sensitive surfaces. The stainless steel wires are set in a variety of patterns depending on the size of area to be covered and the pest species. Anti-roosting systems are normally attached to the structure using silicon, alleviating the requirement to drill, and are therefore discreet and do not have any deleterious effects on the fabric of the building.
